Attended Structure Fire
Otter Point Fire Department was called to a mobile home fire this evening. When crews arrived they found a single wide mobile home with heavy smoke pushing out on all sides. Crews were able to enter the building and obtain a quick knock down of the fire. A big thank you to Sooke Fire, East Sooke Fire and Metchosin Fire who all sent crews to assist!
No one was at home at the time of the fire and no firefighters were injured. Unfortunately the home is a complete loss.
Burning Ban Continues
Good Afternoon Otter Point! With the rain the fire hazard rating is down to LOW and may remain at low or moderate for a few days.
There is still No Open Burning permitted in June, July, August or September.
Campfires in a contained ring are still permitted at this time.

Otter Point firefighter Morgan D’Ganigian was in Orlando Florida with some friends. They decided to participate in the firefighter fitness challenge. Morgan and his team finished in third place with the second fastest time!
