There are four types of awards by which the department recognizes our members commitment to serving their community. Canadian Exemplary Service Medals BC Provincial Long Service Medals Otter Point Fire Fighter of the Year
Otter Point Volunteer Fire Department Service Pins These pins are award by the department to our members in recognition of their commitment to serve their community. The pins recognize service at five year intervals.
The Canadian Fire Services Exemplary Services Medal click image for more details Exemplary Service medals awarded by the Governor General of Canada in recognition of 20 years of meritorious service to public security in Canada. There are also 30 and 40 year service bars to add to the 20 year medal. Exemplary Service medals and bars have been presented to the following members.
British Columbia Provincial Fire Services Long Service Medal click image for more details Long Service Medals awarded by the Provincial Government in recognition of twenty-five (25) years of fire service in British Columbia. There are also 35 and 45 year service bars to add to the 25 year BC medal. BC Long Service medals and bars have been presented to the following members.
Otter Point Fire Fighter of the Year Presented to a member who has gone above and beyond in their commitment to the overall betterment of the Otter Point Fire Department and support of all the departments members.
Award Pictures Below are images of various award presentations Jim Davidson was an active member of the department from 1980 until illness prevented him from participating in department activities. He served as firefighter, captain, deputy chief and association president and was made an honourary member for his outstanding service. Special presentation made to Jim at his home.
